Puppy Application for Potential Puppy Owners
What is the purpose of a Puppy Application? Finding the right puppy for your family leads to a happy dog partnership, but the wrong combination of temperaments can make for a stressed puppy and stressed people. For example, a high energy dog with a low energy family, or vice versa, can lead to tension in training and affect overall satisfaction with the relationship. Our goal is to help you find the puppy in a litter that fits your expectations and needs.
We put a lot of time and effort into socialization, desensitization and puppy enrichment. Before leaving Hycottage Farm, each puppy will be evaluated for temperament, energy level, and aptitude as a guide to connect each puppy buyer with a puppy that fulfills their list of needs and preferences.
If you are interested in a Hycottage Collie, you will need to fill out a puppy application form to let us know a little about what type of puppy you are looking for and share a little bit about your family’s lifestyle. This will give us an indication of which puppy can best fit into the life you already live, rather than you turning your life upside down to try to adapt to an unsuitable match. There is not a right or wrong way to answer the questions, and being straight forward in your answers will help us have an accurate picture of which puppies could be right for you. Some of our puppies could do fine living in town with a couple of daily walks or romps in a small backyard, but others will need more space and time to run and have daily work to do.
We have a very limited number of litters and a limited number of puppies in each litter, so please note that completion of the Puppy Application Form and the Phone Interview does NOT guarantee you a puppy. NOTE: If you fill out a Puppy Application Form you will see a pop up message stating that your form has been submitted. If you don't see that message, we likely didn't receive your application. We usually send acknowledgement emails within 36-48 hours of receiving your application to arrange a phone interview. If you don't get that email, it is also likely that we did not get your application. Just give us a call or email if you want to verify that your application was received.
