Puppy Deposit Policy

PLEASE NOTE: Due to high demand, and to help each puppy get into their new home during the critical bonding period at 9-10 weeks of age, we have made some changes to our puppy reservation policies.

Completing the Puppy Application Form will be followed by a phone call from us so that you will have the opportunity to ask us questions and to go over details of deposit procedures.

Our waiting list stays full and some families even plan two years ahead of when they will be ready for their puppy. We require a $200 fee if you want to be placed on the general waiting list for a Hycottage Farm Collie Puppy. The general waiting list means that you will be contacted when we have an upcoming litter and will be invited to place a deposit on a specific litter if you are ready for a puppy at that time. This $200 general waitlist fee will go toward the adoption fee when you are matched with a puppy.

When we have a breeding and are anticipating a litter, individuals on the general waiting list will be contacted and invited to place a deposit of 1/3 the adoption fee on that specific litter.

When the puppies are born you will be contacted and will need to place another deposit of 1/3 the adoption fee in the next 7 days to secure a puppy in the current litter. If there are not enough puppies in the litter to fill the waitlist we will refund your deposit or hold it for a subsequent litter.

Around 7-8 weeks when puppy/family matches are made we require the final 1/3 before puppy pickup. The puppy will be released to leave our property when the entire adoption fee is received.

The current adoption fee for 9/10 week old puppies is between $1800 and $2000 depending on the litter.

The breakdown for an $2000 adoption fee would look like this:

$200 - paid after your puppy application has been approved and a phone interview is completed. This portion will place your name on our general waitlist.

$600 - paid when we notify you of a completed breeding. This portion will place your name on the waitlist for a specific upcoming litter.

$600 - paid within 7 days of whelping. This portion will secure a puppy for you in the current litter.

$600 - paid when your puppy match has been made at 7-8 weeks. This portion will secure your specific puppy in the litter and complete your adoption fee. Note: puppies are released to their new homes between 9-10 weeks.

Waiting List withdrawal

We require a $150.00 fee if you want to be placed on the waiting list for a future litter. The $150.00 will go toward the adoption fee if you are matched with a puppy. If you chose to be removed from the waiting list prior to puppy matching, the fee is non-refundable.

If we are not able to make a puppy match from the current litter we can refund your $150.00 or you can choose to stay on the waiting list for another litter. For example, if the litter size does not equal the number of families on the waiting list and we don’t find a match for your family, you can choose a refund or choose to remain on the waiting list for another litter.

Shipping Policy

We do not ship puppies. Occasionally, in some circumstances we may be able to arrange a meeting point for delivery or line up a delivery with one of our other puppy families.
