Scotch Collie, Scottish Collie, Old Time Scotch Collie, Rough Collie:

What is the difference?

The distinction we have seen between Rough Collies and Scotch Collies is their temperament and the intensity of their working instincts and drives. We have experience with both types of Collie. There are also differences between the two in appearance. There are other traits that are unique to the Scotch Collie and many people interested in preserving these working dogs have researched and recorded their findings about the history of this remarkable breed. We encourage you to explore the links and resources to learn more about what makes Scotch Collies so special. Also, click through to our About Scotch Collie Page.

Below are some paintings from the late 1800s-early 1900s of Scotch Collies. We think Hycottage Farm's Willow is a strong resemblance to those same beautiful Scotch Collie traits.
